boys of fall

Dear Son's football season started on Friday night with the Varsity game followed by the JV game on Saturday morning. Thursday night we helped feed the team, wow can football players eat! He didn't see a lot of action Friday night but he did play a lot in the JV game. I will post more pictures as the season progresses. He is number 81.

Gotta hold on easy while I let you go (Tim McGraw)

Sweet daughter, now known as Sweet College Girl headed off to college a little over a week ago. It has been a transition to let her grow wings and go off to conquer the world. The van was packed with aqua blue dorm items, clothes and lots of dorm needs the night before we drove her to Upper Iowa.

Wrigley must have known that she was going to be gone for awhile, he snuggled with her every moment he could for about a week before she left.

Dear son wasn't sure how to take all of this.

We arrived at Upper Iowa Friday morning and spent a whirlwind day getting us orientated.

We got her settled in to the dorm and she was ready for us to go home.

The quilt I made for her a couple years ago went to the dorm with her, I think it looks awesome on her futon! I think it will hide cheetos and pepsi stains just fine.... I hope!

Baseball roadtrip

The boys and I took a bus trip from Cedar Rapids to Milwaukee for a Cubs vs. Brewers game. Wow what a stadium! Please excuse the fuzzy pictures but consider the source, we are at a stadium that was named for beer, lotza beer.

The roof on the stadium open and closes which is really great for rainy days or hot days. It was open at the start of the game were at and then they closed it. It was neat to see the roof closing.

Here is the Brewers mascot, he takes a trip down a big slide with every home run. Unfortunately we saw him make that trip down the slide a few times.

The ball park is also known for it's sausages and brats. The guys enjoyed the beer brats and reported back that they were very good.

We loved Miller park and hope to go back again someday but maybe not on a bus.
