A new recipe on Sunday

I tried this new recipe for GARLIC BREAD STICKS on Sunday as it felt good to be back home in my own kitchen. I made home made spaghetti and meatballs to go with.

Family Vacation - Hayward Wisconsin

We enjoyed a relaxing weekend in a cabin on Teal Lake last week.

There was a nice sand beach for the kids.

This plane was on the water on Teal Lake. One of my dreams is to have my pilots license and a house on a lake like this, it would be a GAS to fly in and fly out of the lake.

The town of Hayward had fun activities like minature golf and go-carts.

The cabin had a charcoal Weber grill. I forgot how good grilling is over charcoal and nothing does my heart better than watching a man cook! Well maybe when they do the dishes too!

We explored islands on the lake.

We went to the National Fishing Hall of Fame, Bailey dubbed it the top dorkiest thing our family has ever done but I think it is just in the top 3.

A boat motor made by Clinton Engines in Maquoketa was on display. Clinton Engines was just a few blocks from where Dear Husband grew up!

I enjoyed the pontoon boat and got in a lot of knitting!

Our furry kids joined us on the vacation and for a pontoon boat ride.

Canoeing was fun but a lot of work. 8 miles and 4 hours down the north fork of the Chippewa River.

This is right in front of our cabin on the last day. It was a fine and memorable vacation.

AirVenture 2008

A group from my work went up to OshKosh for AirVenture
It was the first time I've ever been to an airshow and it was AMAZING!

Maybe someday I will be in this picture of women pilots!
My boss gave me a tour and he is an encyclopedia of information on avionics, aircrafts, history of aircrafts and he is a helicopter pilot so my head was spinning when the day was over. I learned so much!

It is an experimental show so many of the aircraft were new and for pilot owned. There were experimental, war birds, business jets, antiques, hobby planes and about any type of gadget that a pilot might need.

This was my favorite. It is a Swift and designed by WW2 fighter pilots after the war. Isn't is CUTE (can a plane be cute?)

antiques

This Husky is meant for rough terrain like Alaska.

There was so much to see, new aircraft, old aircraft, experimental, simulators and lot's of gadgets and cool whiz-bang stuff for pilots.

This is a simulator.

This is a plane that folds up and you transport it on a trailer. It does water landings. WILD!

Da Blimp.

You don't need a license for this.... hmmm... maybe this is the route I should take!

Many of the people that attend the show fly in and camp, this is the parking lot.

This is an antique that won a contest few years ago.

This is a King Air, we put together CBT training for the Rockwell Collins avionics for this airplane.

It was beautiful.

Before the airshow started they had someone sing the Star Spangled banner and this is how the presented the colors of the flag. Is this cool or what!?!?
