Cropped Cardigan - Nimbus

I finished the cropped cardigan. I love the sweater but not sure if I love it on me so I removed the picture of me in the sweater from this blog. It was fun to knit and my first pieced sweater.

It is the Nimbus sweater from Berroco. I bought the yarn from Webs at Stitches Midwest. The sample sweater was 2 inches longer and I probably should have made it longer but thought it would be fun to have a cropped sweater.

Movie reviews

We've been watching a lot of football at our house and not a lot of movies but here are a few that we've watched recently.

OK, this first one is not my cup of tea, way too much violence. we are watching it as I post this blog so I will edit this later to give it my final rating. So far, I can't say I am enjoying it, I am not entertained by violence.

I thought this movie was going to be really dumb. I rented it for the kids. I am surprised that I really enjoyed it. Dumb in parts but it kept me interested through the entire movie. I recommend renting it. I give it a B-.

Oh boy, was this one ever lame. If there isn't nothing else to rent and you are really hard up for a movie go ahead and get it. I give it a C.

Birthday Treat

Dear son celebrated his 15th birthday today! We hosted a birthday party with several of his friends on Friday night.

The kids had a fun time "hanging out" watching movies, listening to music and playing games.

Time really does fly. Here are some pictures of when he was real little.
He wrote me a poem when he was 9. One of these days I plan to embroider it on to a pillow or wall hanging.

on my needles and on my spool

I've made a lot of progress on the cropped cardigan.

I am now working on the sleeves, hopefully by next post I will have the cardigan completed. A lot of football to watch on the weekend which means quality knitting time.

Unfortunately I also had a lot of knitting time while in the hospital with dear husband. He had many tests ran and spent 2 nights in the hospital. He is on some meds now and hopefully we have things under control.

I've been spinning some wonderful merino/silk blend roving. Oh, it is lovely and I have a ton of it! My spinning is coming along, not perfect by any means but looking better. I am not sure what I will make out of this yarn yet.

Color Guard Indoor marching band

The final marching band event was last week. We really enjoyed watching sweet daughter in color guard this year.

She was able to keep the big money flag and another flag. I am trying to decide what we can make out of them. Pillows or maybe a throw.
