Super weekend

This blog is going to be quick as, well, I am busy. Well not that busy tonight but over the weekend I was and couldn't get to my blog and on Monday night I have an important thing to do at 7pm. Don't judge me..... it is the time The Bachelorette is on. I know it is sexist, disgusting and against everything I believe in when it comes to women being liberated but for some reason I am addicted! I think it is the brain dead material that allows me to ignore the stress of my job.

Sooooo, here we go in one brief blog post.

Father's day was a fun day at the I-cubs.

Wrigley got a Summer haircut.

Here is before, a fluffy, fuzzy, somewhat scruffy boy.

Here is after, notice how he is working the new cut with his attitude.

Kodi needed to get in a couple shots so here he is with dear son in their usual positions. Cute! Yes, my couch is full of sports gear so only the dog can squeeze on to it. (again, no judging this go around)

My favorite part of the weekend is that I got a new door!
Here is the before, boring sliding patio door.

And here is my new fab french door. love it love it love it!
maybe I won't move from Cedar now...... ha

Oh and I made a fun salad for dinner. I am dieting..... again.... this salad is fantastic. My Iowa City (Coralville) gal "B" gave me the recipe a few years back and it is dandy. Give it a try!

That's it. Next weekend I will try to show you more knitting, quilting and maybe a movie review but now, I must be off to tv-land, where everyone is stupid, dramatic and skinny.

Iowa Sheep and Wool Fest

Fun weekend in Adel, Iowa at the Iowa Sheep and Wool fest.

We watched a demo of a sheep being sheared. She just laid there, I wish my dogs behaved so well when getting groomed!

There was fleece judging and an auction. It was really interesting to see how a fleece is judged.

Saw some cute Jacob goats. Check out the one with 4 horns!

Enjoyed an evening at Ankeny Girls house. A little show-in-tell of a quilt that is headed to Japan to her first grandchild. Adorable quilt! New grandbaby shares a b-day with sweet daughter.
Mojito's on the deck were refreshing and the company was enjoyable.

Sunday morning I took a Rigid Heddle Class. Not sure if I am interested in weaving on rigid heddle or not. It was an OK class, kind of noisy.

busy weekend

We enjoyed a fun and busy memorial day weekend. Graduatio parties, baseball games, some gardening, some decorating and a nice dinner with family on Monday.

The dogs didn't seem interested in the new pool we bought them but maybe as the summer progresses they will enjoy it more.

I like to decorate in a patriotic theme over the summer months.

Dear Son's school baseball will start next weekend. We went to a scrimmage on Saturday morning.

on my needles and on my bobbin

I started a shawl this week, love the pattern! I am using Dream In Color Smooshy that my IC pal Jackie gave me over a year ago. I started socks twice with it and just couldn't get into the socks so now using it for a shawl. Love the yarn! The pictures don't do the colors justice.

Spinning is coming along. The yarn is getting smaller and more consistent. The tan yarn here is CVM, California Variegated Mutant Sheep.

Love how this Alpaca yarn turned out, it is chunky and soft and the colors are lovely. I plan to make a scarf for sweet daughter.
